HyMarnham Power is a £50 million joint venture between GeoPura and JG Pears, set up to produce, store, and deliver low carbon hydrogen at scale. Located on the site of the former High Marnham coal-fired power station, it demonstrates how legacy energy infrastructure can be repurposed for the clean energy transition.

Green hydrogen has been produced commercially at Low and High Marnham since 2022. production has already begun, with full commercial operations due to start in November 2025. HyMarnham Power will be the first HAR1 project to go live, making it a flagship development in the UK’s hydrogen economy.

Hydrogen from the site will serve a wide range of industries. It is already being used to replace diesel in construction, events, film and TV production, and backup generation. Future supply will support manufacturing, transport, critical infrastructure, and will also help JG Pears decarbonise their operations. This ensures both regional businesses and national sectors can benefit from a reliable, low carbon fuel source.
