A £50 million joint venture between GeoPura and JG Pears, we’re repurposing the former High Marnham Coal Plant into a clean hydrogen hub. Powered by renewable energy, with 15 MW of electrolysers, the green hydrogen plant is driving industrial decarbonisation, off-grid power, and hydrogen mobility. Strategically located in the East Midlands, HyMarnham Power is fuelling the UK’s journey to net zero.

Accelerating the hydrogen transition
Built on the site of a former coal-fired power station in Nottinghamshire, HyMarnham Power shows how the UK can repurpose existing industrial sites to deliver clean energy infrastructure quickly and efficiently. With 1 GW potential and direct pipeline connectivity, HyMarnham Power demonstrates what practical, scalable hydrogen innovation looks like in action today.

Our hydrogen production started in 2024 and is continuing to grow and develop to this day, achieving commercial operation date at full capacity in January 2026.
